after many years and many months of casual bringing up. after all the long anticipated wait. finally, let me bring you through my trip to
BATAM!
surprisingly and amazingly, i survived the ferry trip.
when everyone including myself thought that i was gonna suffer from a tragic throw-up.
anyway, we took the night ferry and it was a relatively short 45mins trip.
when we alighted the ferry, i really had this HELLO-BATAM! feeling.
probably cuz it was the first official trip with my friends after the thailand trip donkey years ago? haha.
junior's mum came over to fetch us, and shortly we set off to his place.
first thing first..
SUPPER! LOL.
i was still thinking the first night would just be a simple tour around the house and then off to bed.
but his mum bought us food for supper.
one of which is batam's mutton satay.
i'm giving thumbs up for their mutton satay.
i dont really fancy mutton, but trust me, their mutton satay is great!
i love their unique sauce that tastes so different from singapore's.
this is one very interesting thing spotted in his brother's room.
a washroom inside a wardrobe. lols.
spotted our pics lying is his room!
i know we look so damn kuku in the pics! hahaha.
these pics made me smile and laugh.
brings me back to the memorable youthful days back in secondary school.
somehow it just warms my heart : )
off we set for brunch on the second day.
went to a restaurant for dim sum, my favourite!
afterwhich we started shopping around for goodies.
and then, went to the somewhere that doesnt exist in singapore and most would not wana miss it when they visit batam.
A & W.
junior bought this fruit rojak for us to try.
and its definitely worth a try.
you get to taste a mixture of fruits dipped in their rojak sauce.
some goes well with it, some of which not that fantastic.
for instance, papaya and watermelon. lols.
while waiting for man chun's arrival..
acting as though i know how to play a guitar when i dont.
but heys i swear i was really trying to tune out some songs okay. haha.
visited a pretty nice place on the third day for lunch.
and batam has really HUGE coconuts.
their food tastes relatively fresh and good.
i didnt come back with gastroenteritis this time. LOL.
we had a game of bom bom car while waiting for dinner.
would you believe if i tell you this was my first time out of my 22yrs?
i never know its that fun and exciting.
kinda 'sua ku' i know. lols.
a nice place with nice food.
i love their mee goreng!
reached home after a day of fun.
we chit-chatted a little, we camwhored a little.
thats one way of spending our time for the few nights there.
we were bored till the extent that we played with junior's macbook cam.
taking all the lame shots, making stupid and ghostly faces.
but i pretty much enjoy the whole process.
its really really fun.
nasi padang for lunch on the last day of trip.
looks normal to you?
but it tastes great.
if you know how to appreciate such food, i bet you will like it like all of us do.
views from his rooftop..
and thats where we tried the crazy jump shots..
i have more to share that werent captured in shots.
like the massage we went!
everyone has been saying that batam's massage is a must-try.
initially i didnt have the courage to try.
the cracking of bones and all seems scary to me.
but somehow under their influence..
"okay steady pom bibi lar!"
hahaha.
its not as bad as i thought.
the only painful part i find was the shoulder massage.
other than that, i was pretty much enjoying.
it was a nice experience!
we went for a short badminton session.
satisfied my urge for sports lately.
feels really good to perspire and get myself on the active track.
when was the last time i took up sports?
i couldnt remember.
i think we should plan such session occasionally. agree?
another thing i must must must comment.
batam's durian is awesome!
right now i'm still thinking of it mann.
its like the best durian i've ever eaten.
ehh junior can i like pre-order the next time we visit? lols.
ohh yups. this little boy over here.
junior's little brother.
he played an entertaining role throughout the whole trip.
he's like a bonus to the trip?
i love playing with kids!
not forgetting novia, who joined us in the fun of sharing horror stories in the middle of the night. lols.
junior's family definitely added on to the fun of our trip.
they say it the-more-the-merrier.
thats exactly what it means.
really gotta thx his family especially his parents for the great hospitality.
we felt really welcomed and i bet all of us enjoyed the 4days trip.
well well..
fun times just doesnt last long.
4days of trip ended real fast and i always hate the part where we gotta part ways.
started having the sinking feeling on the trip back.
well, thats me.
thats what i always feel when i enjoyed too much with my friends.
i cant describe the kind of feeling, its just .. .. ..
i dont know.
now i understand why sometimes people has the urge to go on a getaway trip whenever they face certain stress at a point of time.
it might help by putting a pause to their jumbled up thoughts, or setting their mind to a clearer state of thoughts.
whats even better is.. they manage to find some answer which they have been searching for all this while.
